Some posts on Twitter tried to deceive opponents of President Trump by providing incorrect information about the day to vote or announcing that “2018 is the A nrefirst year citizens can vote by TEXT.” Other tweets tried to intimidate liberal voters by telling 
National Rifle Association members and Republicans to bring their guns to the polls. Yet other social media posts attempted to deter African Americans in 2018 by arguing that voting is pointless or that there’s no difference between the two major parties. Many of these messages used hashtags like #dontvote and #dontbeavoter. . . .

Crucially, Biden is above the 50 percent mark in all three states, while Trump remains mired in the low to mid-40s. . . .

Should be an election law violation!” . . .

President Trump once again falsely claimed that coronavirus infection numbers are rising because of the high level of testing.
 
Daniel Dale: “While the number of daily tests has indeed been rising, there is no doubt there has been an increase in the actual spread of the virus, not just that more cases are being captured. One telltale sign is that hospitalizations are also rising, setting records in some states. Also, the percentage of US tests coming back positive has also been rising since late September. And deaths have started to rise again, too, after the usual lag following the spike in cases.”

In his letter of resignation from the Federal Salary Council issued Sunday, Ronald Sanders decried the executive order that could impact tens of thousands or more employees in policy roles across the government.  Sander wrote that Trump’s executive order “is nothing more than a smoke screen for what is clearly an attempt to require the political loyalty of those who advise the President, or failing that, to enable their removal with little if any due process”. . . Sanders argued in his resignation letter that he “simply cannot be part of an Administration that seeks . . . to replace apolitical expertise with political obeisance” and that career federal employees are “legally and duty-bound to be nonpartisan.” . . .

Or retweet conspiracy theories about secret cabals running the world. Or retweeting the claim that Navy SEALs didn’t actually kill bin Laden.” He added: “You wouldn’t tolerate it from a coworker, you wouldn’t tolerate it from a high school principal, you wouldn’t tolerate it from a coach, you wouldn’t tolerate it from a family member. . . . Why are we accepting it from the president of the United States?”

We are going to control the fact that we get vaccines, therapeutics, and other mitigation areas.” Tapper, for his part, pressed Meadows on why we couldn’t get control of the pandemic, prompting the chief of staff to respond that it was due to it being a “contagious virus just like the flu.” “Why not make efforts to contain it?” Tapper retorted. “Well, we are making efforts to contain it,” Meadows insisted. “By running all over the country and not wearing a mask? That’s what the vice president is doing,” the CNN anchor shot back.

The list of planned replacements is much longer, but these are Trump's priorities . . . Wray and Haspel are despised and distrusted almost universally in Trump's inner circle. He would have fired both already, one official said, if not for the political headaches of acting before Nov. 3. . . A win, no matter the margin, will embolden Trump to ax anyone he sees as constraining him from enacting desired policies or going after perceived enemies.

As The Wall Street Journal sought to report the story out and confirm or deny the allegations made by Herschmann and Passantino, however, Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani gave the story to the New York Post, which published the allegations. . . .

The conservative New Hampshire Union Leader endorsed Joe Biden for president . . . “Building this country up sits squarely within the skill set of Joseph Biden. We have found Mr. Biden to be a caring, compassionate and professional public servant. He has repeatedly expressed his desire to be a president for all of America, and we take him at his word. Joe Biden may not be the president we want, but in 2020 he is the president we desperately need. He will be a president to bring people together and right the ship of state.” 

[NB: In over 100 years the paper formerly known as the Manchester Union Leader only endorsed Republicans (and one Libertarian).]

The Topeka Capital Journal, which endorsed Donald Trump in 2016, is retreating: “The gamble didn’t work out. But that election is past, and a new one approaches. Unlike Trump, Joe Biden has nearly five decades of documented public service, as a senator and vice president. He has served ably and honorably over that time. We do not agree with all of his proposals or actions over those years. We doubt that he does either. But he has always been open and forthright with the American people. He has always appealed to our better selves.” “In these difficult times, after four years of chaos and confusion, the United States needs a steady hand. We endorse Joe Biden as the next president.”
