I am very very grateful that Ryan Grim exposed Bush as a plagiarist on Thursday. . . .

Its over: US NATO formally announcing ‘transition’ to Afghan withdrawal
[DR] Finally the Afghan government is proclaiming what anyone with a three-digit IQ has been saying for 8 years: the US is creating more terrorists in Afghanistan by slaughtering innocent civilians.
Then there is this bombshell weekend article:
http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE6AD12Z20101114
Gen. Richards says al Qaeda can be contained, not defeated
And suddenly you've got the very real political situation where the incoming Congress is going to have to confront the obvious truth that hundreds of American troops have been sent to their deaths to simply "contain Muslims" and "marginally reduce terrorism" rather than "win the war," "protect Americans," and "export freedom."
Just how will the GOTP (Grand Old Tea Party) react to next summer's scheduled withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, when all the indicators are that the Taliban will launch a spectacular series of offensives, possibly establish a new capital city of Afghanistan, and make a very loud and perhaps justified claim to have outright defeated NATO?
They'll blame Obama, of course. But I suspect they are going to have to walk a very thin line between loudly condemning Obama for "losing the war" and not exacerbating a growing public outrage that hundreds of Americans died in essentially an ineffectual-at-best, intellectually defunct and utterly meaningless military campaign.
At least one thing can be counted on however. The simpering, spineless Dems will not step up and say "with all due honor and respect for the troops, we told you so."
